UAE-based healthcare provider Burjeel Holdings has been contracted to operate and manage the new Das Hospital on Das Island, which is set to become the island’s primary healthcare and emergency response hub.

Under Burjeel Holdings’ management, the hospital will offer round-the-clock care across a range of outpatient specialities for the Abu Dhabi National Oil Company’s (ADNOC) workforce and other local residents.

Its specialities will include general surgery, family medicine, internal medicine, dental, ENT, ophthalmology and occupational health.

The agreement is part of ADNOC’s efforts to support community wellbeing and emergency preparedness on Das Island.

ADNOC Group Medical & Wellbeing Senior vice-president Dr Ghuwaya Al Neyadi said: “Through this partnership with Burjeel Holdings, ADNOC’s state-of-the-art Das Hospital will provide access to top-tier healthcare and emergency services for our employees, reinforcing our Energy for Wellbeing strategy.

“Our people are our most important asset and ADNOC will continue to prioritize their wellbeing and foster a healthy working environment.”

Das Hospital will have 23 inpatient beds, advanced diagnostic imaging capabilities and a physiotherapy and rehabilitation unit, as well as a fully equipped emergency department.

It will also offer telemedicine services, vaccination programmes and health education initiatives to ensure continuous and accessible care for the community.

The contract builds on Burjeel Holdings’ existing partnership with ADNOC, integrating the hospital into the Burjeel healthcare facility network.

Burjeel Holdings group CEO John Sunil said: “We are proud to strengthen our partnership with ADNOC through the management of the new Das Hospital.

“This initiative reflects our continued commitment to extending advanced, high-quality healthcare to strategic and remote locations.

“Burjeel Holdings remains dedicated to clinical excellence, innovation, and agile operations in support of ADNOC’s vision for a safer and healthier future.”

Burjeel Holdings’ network, including its flagship Burjeel Medical City facility, is equipped to manage complex medical cases.

Last month, the group opened the Al Muderis Osseointegration Clinic at Burjeel Medical City, introducing the osseointegration surgical technique to the Middle East.
